Learn French Fluently - Getting Book Smart

Thank Goodness we have cafes, because it is a great place to chill out and read some French literature to learn French fluently. No I'm not talking about reading a Victor Hugo novel in French but did you know that the Disney film "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" was based on the original novel was written by Victor Hugo and is known in France as "Notre Dame de Paris"? What to read? Why not start with some French magazines such a Paris Match, Vogue, Le Monde, Cuisine Actuelle or a children's magazine called Pomme D'Api. Or if magazines are not your thing you can try French comic books such as Asterix. Reading French magazines, books and comics will help you to learn French fluently because it is an excellent exercise for word recognition when they are written down on paper. But before you get book smart, you need to by a good French/English dictionary and keep it by your side just in case you don’t recognize the word, you can look it up.
